The emphasis here is less on learning, though some learning is inevitable! Rather the aim is to take you up routes of your choice, maybe you want to do a classic Lake District ridge climb with a mountain top finish and have not got the experience or equipment to do it by yourself? Or maybe you have only climbed in summer conditions, or perhaps not at all, and want to try winter or ice climbing without learning the ‘ins and outs'. This is open to all levels of experience, though the total beginner should be prepared to learn some basic techniques required but does not need to worry about leading pitches or anything other than the necessary basics. Some experience of using crampons and an ice axe (or 2 axes) will be helpful but by no means essential. Max 2 per Guide.
